Studio Ghibli Films Playing Everyday On Film 4, Even On Weekdays (December 2015)

Forgot to rotate the images - posted in order of time from latest.

At 12:30 today I went on Film 4 to find Nausicaa Of The Valley Of The Wind playing.
Today's Tuesday - so it's fair to say that Studio Ghibli films are playing everyday, not just on weekends, but also on weekdays.

But I'm still unsure of whether this is for a short time only since it's Christmas, or if its generally going to repeat everyday.

Sunday Today: Porco Rosso On Film 4 (British TV)

At 12:00 I randomly tuned in to Film 4 to suddenly see Porco Rosso playing, already 4/5 into the film.
My face suddenly lit up, it's one of my favourite Ghibli films - I didn't watch it, but I took these three images.

Reminds me of back in late March/Early April when I first watched it on Film 4. Ahh...

Studio Ghibli Films Airing On Film 4 Every Weekend: Arrietty Today

For the past couple of weeks I've noticed that Studio Ghibli films have been playing on weekends - though I'm not sure if they play during weekdays too, as I'm not home during these days; with the coming holiday, I'll be able to confirm whether they do play on weekdays or not, though.)

Today Arrietty is playing again - and damn, the memories coming from it are great.

Whenever I hear the memorable music, I constantly get chills and get reminded of the magic of it from when I watched it back in late March/early April during the Easter Holidays this year.

Then I get reminded of when I watched it back when I was 11/12, of how I didn't manage to complete it (I think) and yet I still remembered it.
Those were the days!

Here's three screenshots I managed to get - I'm not watching it though, only listening to it while I type this:

You gotta love this song.

But I had to watch that ending again: as soon as I heard the goodbyes, I went straight to the TV to But I had to watch that ending again: as soon as I heard the goodbyes, I went straight to the TV to watch it. Memories man, I wonder where the Borrowers went to next. I wonder if Sho's still alive, or if he passed away because of his heart condition.

EDIT (16/02/16): Turned out that this was a Christmas Studio Ghibli Season. Ghibli films stopped playing after the New Year, far as I know.

Rewatching The Castle Of Cagliostro On My 15th Birthday

Back on Friday the 13th this November (terrible day!), I bought "The Castle Of Cagliostro" for £6, straight after school.
Not a bad price considering it's a great film.
But what disappointed me was the DVD disc itself.

When I found it on the shelf for the first time (among countless other anime films and collections including "Spirited Away", "Naruto Unleashed" and "Bleach"), I was excited.

The first time I'd watched it was 7 months ago, back in early April, when it was playing on British TV as part of a Studio Ghibli marathon on Film 4 (even though TCOC was created before Studio Ghibli was created).
I was captivated by it. Lupin was such a sick main protagonist, reminding me a lot of Yusuke Urameshi (wouldn't be surprised if it inspired him).
I liked it because it was so 'typical'; it was like a classic.

Ever watched Johnny English? I wouldn't be surprised if it was inspired by TCOC.
That's one of my favourite childhood films, so obviously I would really like TCOC due to it having similar 'feelings' or 'ideas' to Johnny English.

After I'd first watched it I felt a very, very slight bit of nostalgia, seeing how I wouldn't see any of the characters again.

Anyway, this all combined made me really want to buy TCOC, seeing it right in front of me, its DVD case cover reminding me of the action-packed film it was.
Trouble was that, for some reason, I couldn't buy it and had to wait until Friday.

So on Friday, straight after school I went to Cex, searched the 'anime section' shelves to find an anime film or episodes collection I could buy.
I wasn't sure whether to buy The Castle Of Cagliostro or any of the other anime DVDs I'd found and picked, since I'd already watched the former and wanted something new.

So suddenly I was like "Flip it", bought The Castle Of Cagliostro, and went home excited.

But that excitement didn't last long when I opened the DVD case to find a 'plain-looking' disc and a pure-black 'background' (no extra booklets or 'sheets', no background designs, nothing!).

Sure, it's not that big of a deal, but I wanted more out of the inside of the DVD case, out of the disc.

I decided to return it, or exchange it for something else - so straight after school, I went to Cex again, spent 10 minutes searching for any other DVD I could exchange it for.
I found One Piece Movie 7 again, standing there - I opened the DVD case so I wouldn't be disappointed if I bought it... and I loved it.
The background was different to the case cover, and is one of my favourite One Piece scenes; the disc was just as exciting as the case cover.

So I went to the counter to return TCOC, full of excitement.

Turns out that you can only return DVDs within 2 days, and it'd been 3/4 days since I'd bought TCOC. I asked if I could exchange it for something else instead, but a "Would you like to sell it?" replied to me, to which I said "Nah, it's fine".

Sad, I spent a few minutes around the 'anime section', staring at the One Piece Movie 7 DVD in disappointment - and then left.

I honestly felt hateful towards Cex for its return policy, and I was afraid that I'd start to hate The Castle Of Cagliostro too - so I decided to, out of disappointment and wanting to enjoy the film, and for the 'wait factor', wait a week and half, on the 24th, today, to watch it. My birthday.

The Castle Of Cagliostro is a special film for me, a film I can always watch several times much like Johnny English - so it'd be fitting to watch it on my birthday.

Today I came home after school, did my usual stuff and then went to watch The Castle Of Cagliostro as soon as KFC dinner was being served.
Surprisingly my 'slight hate' for it had disappeared, and I watched it with excitement, awaiting the scenes still in my mind from 7 months back.

While eating the chocolate cake, I was around halfway through the film. It was great.

Anime On UK Television!

Anime rarely comes on British television compared to, say, the US, in 2015.

Years back, several anime series/films would play in a few channels (around 5 channels?), but now it's been reduced to 2 (sometimes 3) channels, and the two channels only play a few anime series.

There's CITV which sometimes plays Pokemon episodes and in some occasions air the latest Pokemon films as well.
Currently the 28th of October, I noticed weeks back that Dinosaur King plays regularly on CITV, and still does, which is a good thing. Hearing Ash's voice actor in it really frightens me lool.

There's Kix which shows only one anime series, the legendary Dragon Ball Z Kai.
It plays starting from 10:30pm and ending at 12:00pm - three episodes every day.
Currently it's replayed the Cell Saga like three times, since the Buu Saga hasn't been dubbed yet.

The third channel isn't really a children's/cartoon channel - it's mainly a film-channel which plays several films every day, at times cartoons but most of the time 'latest' American films.
I'm talking about Film 4, which plays one or two Ghibli films everyday for around 20 days, thrice a year (or more). EDIT: These past few years they've only aired Ghibli marathons once a year or none at all in a year.

A couple of years back, Pokemon would play regularly on Disney XD and CITV, but now -XD no longer plays it and CITV's episodes of it have reduced.
Scratch that. I think that it's been completely wiped from CITV since I've been searching for it for a few days but haven't found any Pokemon episodes.

SSGSS Renamed Super Saiyan Blue; Multiverse Versions Of Characters: Female Whis Is Whis' Sister, Champa Is Beerus' Brother

Edited version:

Thanks to Herms from Kanzenshuu, who provided the script and spoilers from the chapter below, we find out that: Champa is Beerus’ twin brother, the female Whis is actually Whis’ sister and her name is Vados. Also, Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (SSGSS) is renamed to Super Saiyan Blue by Whis and the narrator. But there's more!
Goku: “I wanna get stronger and fight tons of strong guys!!”
Vegeta: “Hmph!! There’s someone stronger than you right here. Save that talk until after you’ve defeated me!!!”
Goku: “Hah!!!”
Goku punches with his left hand, then unleashes a backhand blow with his right hand, but Vegeta blocks it all and grabs Goku’s leg.
Vegeta: “I’ll be the first to defeat Beerus-sama!”
Vegeta sends Goku flying

Vegeta: “I’m not going to let you stay one step ahead of me forever!”
Vegeta chases at great speed, but Goku teleports behind him. Vegeta kicks, but just hits afterimages, ticking him off.
Vegeta: “Kuh!!!!”
Whis: “This won’t do. Vegeta-san has lost his cool yet again.”
A shadow appears behind him.

Vegeta: “Over there!!!”
But he just punches a tree

Vegeta: “Shit…!!!”
Goku: “I’ve got you now!!!”
Vegeta: “!!”
Vegeta turns into a SSGSS
Whis: “Hm, blue hair.”
He fires a shockwave that sends Goku flying
Whis: “My, my.”
Goku: “Hey that hurt, Vegeta!!! Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan was supposed to be off-limits for this match!!! If you’re gonna be a Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan, then I’ll be one too!!
Goku turns into SSGSS
Vegeta: “Hahaha! That’s just what I was hoping for! Obviously if we’re both Super Saiyan God Super Saiyans, then as an elite I’ll definitely be superior!!”
Goku: “No way, my Super Saiyan God Super…Ow!!! I bit my tongue!!!”
Vegeta: “……”
Goku: “Hey Vegeta, can’t we do something about that long name?”
Whis drops down

Whis: “How about…Super Saiyan Blue?”
Vegeta: “…”
Goku: “Blue…..”
Whis: “By the way you two, transformations were forbidden in this match. I can’t have you disobeying my training instructions.”
Vegeta averts his eyes, while Goku points at Vegeta as if it’s his fault
Whis: “Are you getting carried away just because you defeated Golden Freeza? Really now…”
Narration: “In fact, a little while before this, the terrible emperor Freeza who had previously terrorized the universe came back to life and attacked Earth. However, after meeting Beerus and Whis, Goku and Vegeta received training from Whis, managing to evolve into Super Saiyan Blue, a form surpassing Super Saiyan God. And so they even managed to defeat the revived Freeza!”
Whis dresses the two up in what looks like spacesuits, and signs his signature on the front.
Whis: “Since you broke your promise, you can wear these vee~eery heavy suits as punishment.”
Vegeta: “I can’t move freely…”
Goku: “Geez, this is your fault, Vegeta!”
Vegeta: “What was that, Kakarot?!”
Goku: “You wanna fight, Vegeta?!”
Whis is about to eat some cup ramen, when Champa and Vados drop in.
Champa: “Who are those two? New pupils? Been a while, hasn’t it Whis?”
Whis: “Why, if it isn’t Champa-sama. What a rare pleasure.”
Vegeta: “Hey, there’s someone who looks like Beerus-sama!”
Goku: “Oh, and there’s a lady who looks just like Whis-san too…”
Whis: “And what brings you here?”
Champa: “Go get Beerus.”
Whis: “He is resting right now, but…Alright, please wait a moment.”
Goku: “Who the heck is this guy? Look s like a fat Beerus-sama.”
Champa: “………….”
Vados: “Hey now! Don’t be so rude. This is Beerus-sama’s twin brother, Champa-sama”
Goku: “Twins!? Really!?”
Vados: “Watch your mouth! He’s the God of Destruction for Universe 6.”
Vegeta: “What!? A God of Destruction!!”
Goku: “!! Wha…Wha?! Who’s stronger, him or Beerus-sama?”
Vados (looking at Champa’s stomach): “Why even ask? Can’t you tell just by looking at his physique?”
Champa: “Vados!!!”
Vados: “Oh! Hohoho…My apologies. By the way, Whis and I are siblings as well. Though I’m a bit more powerful.”
Goku: “Geez, I give up! Seems like there’s tons of guys stronger than me!”
Vegeta: “…Why do you look so happy about it?”
Whis: “Elder Sister, I object! After all, it’s been 1,000 years since you trained me.”
Vados: “Fufufu…Do you want to try me?”
Beerus: “What do you guys want? Did you just come to talk shit?”
Champa: “Hmph! Long time no see, Beerus. Let’s have a showdown like always. Get ready.”
Goku: “Showdown?”
The cup ramen is lined up next to a rectangular egg
Champa: “Hahahahahaha! Is this just hot water poured into a cup?”
Beerus: “What is that?…”
Champa: “Give it a taste! My latest discovery, a boiled Don-Don Bird egg! It’s so tasty, you’ll be at a loss for words.”
Goku: “So by ‘showdown’ he meant a food showdown?”
Whis: “Yes, whenever they meet up it’s always like this.”
Goku: “Darn, I thought I was gonna get to see Beerus-sama’s true power.”
Champa: “Hahah! Well, how is it?! Shocking, right?! Universe 6 definitely has much tastier food! It’s a paradise!”
Beerus: “Fufufu…Just pipe down and eat that, Champa.”
Champa: “……”
*Gulp*
Champa: “Muh…”
Beerus: “Fufufufuffu, well, how is it?”
The two of them greedily devour their food
Champa: “*gulp gulp* *exhales* Hmph, not bad, I suppose…”
Beerus: “You even drank up the soup.”
Champa: “……..Beerus……Where did you get this?”
Beerus: “A planet called ‘Earth’.”
Champa: “Earth?”
Beerus: “It’s not just this. Earth is full of countless tasty things like this!”
Champa: “Hey, Vados! There should be an ‘Earth’ in Universe 6 as well. Find it!”
Vados: “Yes, right away.”
Vegeta: “What’s this ‘Universe 6’ thing they keep mentioning?”
Whis: “Didn’t you know? There are twelve universes in total. Ours is Universe 7.”
Vegeta: “Universe 7? I’ve never heard that…”
Goku: “Now that you mention that, I think I heard this once before…”
Whis: “Champa-sama came from Universe 6. The relationship between Universe 6 and Universe 7 is like a pair of twins; they’re practically the same. They generally come in pairs, like two sides of a coin. So for instance, Universe 1 and Universe 12, or Universe 2 and Universe 11. Any two universes whose numbers add up to thirteen form a pair.”
Vegeta: “I…I didn’t know…”
Goku: “I don’t get this at all. Explain again!”
Vegeta: “…I’ll explain it for you later.”
Vados: “It’s there, Champa-sama. There’s an Earth in Universe 6 as well.”
Vegeta: “What?! There’s really another Earth over there?”
Goku: “……..”
Vados: “But…Unfortunately, there was an idiotic war on our Earth in the past…and it seems the human race was wiped out.”
Champa: “What?!”
Beerus: “Hahhahah, too bad, Champa! So you don’t have any humans left to make super-delicious foods!”
Goku: “Well, I guess that sort of thing does happen. Our Earth has been in all sorts of tight spots! Heck, even Vegeta tried to destroy it.”
Vegeta: “…..Don’t dredge up the past.”
Champa: “Beerus, let’s have a contest….”
Beerus: “Huh? What sort of contest?”
Champa: “If I win this martial arts contest, we’ll trade Earths.”
Beerus: “Hahahahahaha! Me and you, fight?”
Champa: “Not that. It’ll be a contest between select individuals from each of our universes…Yeah, how about a five-person team battle? Members will fight one at a time, and whichever side defeats the opposing team’s final competitor wins. Let’s hold a Universe 6 and 7 God of Destruction Invitational Tournament!”
Goku: “(AT LAST!!!)”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So what does this mean?

Do the alternate timelines equate with the multiverse?

Had Future Trunks originally come from one of these universes but mistakenly travelled to Universe 7 and then travelled back to his universe all along?

Will Akira Toriyama somehow implement GT into the Dragon Ball 'multiverse' canonically by making it that GT was taking place in one of these Universes all along?

Apparently on Universe 6 the human race was wiped out because of a war - what was the cause? People are saying that Goku went full-on Kakarot and carried out his main mission.

According to the Jaco The Galactic Patrolman manga, Bardock personally sent Goku to earth, so was this version of Goku's launch from one of the other Universes?

Or did this actually take place in Universe 7.

But would the former mean that Kakarot wasn't the actual cause to the extinction of the human race in Universe 6, if that was the Universe?

Just my input on these things.

I'd like to know what you guys think about these sudden twists of events. Feel free to comment.

Finally Completed Dragon Ball Z After 6 Years, Yesterday!

Back when I was 8 in 2009, Dragon Ball Evolution came out.
Although I probably already knew about Dragon Ball Z (I might've seen gameplay of it before at a family-friend's house and seen Super Saiyans in action, and heard/seen about it even before), Dragon Ball Evolution opened the world of Dragon Ball Z to me. I loved it. It influenced me a lot.

Ever since then I watched less than 10 episodes of Dragon Ball Z Kai (in Japanese presumably), less than 90 episodes of Dragon Ball Z (uncut, Bruce Faulconer's music) (both around 2009/2010), and from December 2012 to February 2013 I watched a couple episodes of Dragon Ball Z Kai on Kix, on TV.

Either around late 2009 or January 2010, I stumbled across a Future Gohan dies AMV, which really affected me. I was a kid. So I researched about the episode.
Even at school I would think about it, get angry and secretly cry on the inside. The androids really annoyed me lool.

Back around 2009/2010 I also had Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 on my PS2, which my brother borrowed from his friend. Boy was a fan of it. Later on I was bought Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 1, which also made my love for Dragon Ball heighten.

Then around the end of November last year, I started Dragon Ball, loved it, and finished it this year's February.

A few weeks later I started Dragon Ball Z, after all of those years, watched 10 episodes and then took a really long break from it to decide whether to stay in Japanese or continue in English, and a long break from anime series in general.

Months later, in late July, I decided to continue with the English dub, and finally completed Dragon Ball Z yesterday night about ten thirty.

Vegeta was at one point my favourite character - his dub was high and mighty.

Future Trunks then replaced Vegeta as my favourite character since the latter's dub changed back to before it was re-dubbed around when Future Trunks was introduced, who was a bad-ass.

Ultimate Gohan became my #1 favourite character ever since Goku died, when he became a proper teenager attending high school. Seriously, his "Golden Fighter" alias inspired my blogger name.

Then Vegito came, dressed like a boss and taking his time to kick Ultimate Buu's ass; he was cool, but was eventually replaced by Ultimate Gohan in my list.

Man, it's been a journey.
